EnvironmentAt Societe Generale, you will be joining the Operations department (OPER) of Global Banking & Investors Solutions (GBIS), one of the three pillars of SG that brings together Corporate and Investment Banking activities, Private Banking activities, and Asset Management and Investor Services.
The Operations Department (“OPER”) handles the middle and office functions for all Global Banking and Investor Solutions (“GBIS”) business lines (Markets & Financing) and International Private Banking. OPER implements all necessary means to ensure the operational, administrative and financial processing of market and credit operations initiated by business lines.
OPER, which operates within GBIS, is responsible for the following at worldwide level:
- Making available all the resources required for the administrative and financial processing of market and credit operations initiated by the various Business Lines
- Performing level one auditing in accordance with regulatory requirements, and setting up all the facilities required for secure processing of transactions,
- Managing operational risks
- Participating in drawing up economic and accounting results for SG Coverage and Investment Banking & International Private Banking operations
MissionThe control function, within the Trade Support Unit Department, sets the standard and an adequate and exhaustive control framework to ensure transactions and product booking consistency. In this function the control manager has a critical and major role in the process by ensuring the quality and the integrity of the trades in our systems.
Within this frame, in close cooperation with Front Office and all the support function (Middle Office, Back Office, Risk services, IT…) you will be in charge of the following mission:
Control the characteristics of the trades booked in the risk system versus an external documentation (confirmation, term sheet, …
Integrity check of transactions and positions
You will also be involved in the project and transversal tasks of the team:
Monitoring of transversal issues (IT, accounting…)
Contribute to improve the control, automation and convergence of the team’s processes
Contribute to analyze the impact of new product/activity
Contribute to produce risk indicators (KRI) and performance indicator (KPI) on team’s activity
ProfileGraduate with a Master degree from Business school or University, majoring in Finance.
A previous experience in Investment Banking would be appreciated.
You have technical and functional skills in financial products and events management.
You are fluent in English.
You are proficient in Office application (Excel and VBA skills are a must have)
The VIE assignment in a nutshellThis VIE in New-York is to begin as soon as possible but you need to plan 3 months between your application date and the beginning of your VIE assignment. It will last 18 months.
